Project Associate – Climate Adaptation

About the role

The Project Associate will support the delivery of a United Nations Development Programme climate‑adaptation project in Moldova. The assignment focuses on strengthening national hydro‑meteorological monitoring, establishing an operational flash‑flood early‑warning system, and applying an integrated water resources management approach in five key watersheds. By contributing to the design, implementation and coordination of project activities, the associate will help build institutional capacities of national and local authorities, improve the safety of hydro‑technical infrastructure and enhance community participation in flood risk governance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the efficient delivery of the joint climate‑adaptation project, focusing on achieving the defined outcomes for hydro‑meteorological monitoring, early‑warning systems and integrated water resources management across five pilot watersheds in Moldova.
• Undertake administrative, logistical, travel, procurement, financial and asset management tasks in full compliance with UNDP rules, regulations and policies, ensuring proper documentation and resource allocation throughout the four‑year project.
