Driver (LSC-3) – Chisinau

About the role

The Driver provides safe, reliable transportation for UNFPA staff, officials and visitors in Chisinau, while maintaining the assigned vehicle in excellent condition. The role supports programme activities through field missions, document delivery and logistical assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive UN officials, staff and visitors, including airport pick‑ups and handling visa/customs formalities when required.
• Maintain daily vehicle logs, monitor fuel consumption and ensure timely minor and major repairs, oil changes, tire checks and car washing.
• Keep all required vehicle documentation up to date, such as insurance, registration, first‑aid kit and spare parts.
• Assist office staff with filing, photocopying, mailing newsletters and paying telephone bills as needed.
• Collaborate with other UN and partner agency drivers for major functions and routine operational matters.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education.
• At least three years of professional driver experience with a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
• Experience in an international organization, embassy or UN setting is an asset.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, demonstrating discretion and integrity.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s licence (including defensive‑driving certification).
• Certification for armored‑vehicle operation (asset).
• Proficiency with 4x4 vehicles and minor vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of communication equipment such as radio and GPS.
• Competence in standard office software applications and corporate IT systems.
