Python Backend Engineer

About the role

USXSoft-Tech, a private software development company based in Chisinau, Moldova, is looking for an experienced Python Backend Engineer to join an AI startup building its own AI-powered software product. You will work on a modern backend architecture and contribute to a scalable, production-ready AI solution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend functionality using modern asynchronous Python and FastAPI.
• Design and implement well-structured, strongly typed APIs following FastAPI best practices.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis and S3-compatible storage in a Docker-based environment.
• Contribute to backend architecture, code quality and ongoing product development.

Required profile

• 3+ years of commercial experience in Python backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern Python (3.13+), including asynchronous programming and type-safe development.
• Fluent professional English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Solid experience with FastAPI, SQLModel and Pydantic, including FastAPI best practices for large codebases.
• PostgreSQL, including pgvector; database migrations with Alembic.
• Redis and S3-compatible object storage.
• Docker and multiple Docker-based services.
• Clean, maintainable, well-structured and strongly typed code.
