Network Operations Center Engineer

About the role
ITcare is expanding its NOC team in Chișinău and seeks a motivated engineer to monitor and support production networks for ISPs, data centres and enterprises across multiple continents.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor network devices, servers, security systems, databases and services in 8‑hour shifts, 24/7.
- Analyze alarms, troubleshoot issues and follow internal processes for resolution.
- Perform routine work on routers, switches, firewalls and access points, implementing changes from L2/L3 engineers.
- Prioritise and escalate service‑affecting faults, run problem management and reporting.
- Watch usage and capacity, suggest fixes, and help build new monitoring checks, automations, alarms and dashboards.
Required profile
- Previous NOC experience with strong grasp of monitoring tools and network analysis.
- Solid Layer 2 knowledge (Ethernet, ARP, STP, LACP) and basic Layer 3 routing.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting and technical support experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication, teamwork orientation.
- English proficiency at A2‑B1 level or higher.
Required skills
- Monitoring tools: Zabbix, Grafana, SNMP.
- Network and Linux administration, including routing and switching (LXD/LXC a plus).
- Routing protocols: VRRP, OSPF, IS‑IS, BGP, MPLS.
- Security fundamentals: firewalls, VPN, SSL, IPsec.
- Vendor experience: Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia, MikroTik, Huawei, Dell, Edgecore.
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP (optional).
