HR Compliance Specialist

About the role

The HR Compliance Specialist will ensure that our employment practices align with federal and state labor laws across all U.S. states where we operate. This position focuses on document verification, regulatory research, and proactive risk management to protect the company from fines and penalties.

Key responsibilities

• Research and monitor federal and state employment laws, wage regulations, and labor standards.
• Review and verify employee onboarding documentation, contracts, and HR records for legal accuracy.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date compliance calendar for each operating state, tracking filing deadlines and mandatory notices.
• Identify potential compliance gaps and provide clear recommendations to management.
• Assist in developing and updating internal HR policies and templates in line with applicable regulations.
• Prepare regular compliance reports summarizing risks, regulatory changes, and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Higher education in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong research ability to locate, read, and interpret U.S. federal and state employment laws.
• High attention to detail in document review and compliance tracking.
• Good English proficiency (B2 or higher) for reading legal materials.
• Organized, methodical, and capable of managing multiple compliance tasks simultaneously.
