Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate Lending

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and solution‑oriented Principal Legal Counsel to join our Legal Department and support corporate lending activities and other bank operations. In this role you will provide legal advice, draft documentation, and ensure compliance with Moldovan legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and approve legal documentation for complex lending transactions, including loan agreements, guarantees, pledges, mortgages and suretyships.
• Respond to complaints, requests and inquiries from corporate clients, authorities and other stakeholders, preparing official responses, legal opinions and recommendations.
• Represent the bank in administrative and civil proceedings and in interactions with public authorities, supervisory bodies and courts.
• Identify and assess legal risks related to lending activities and propose mitigation measures.
• Advise internal teams on regulatory compliance, monitor legislative developments and assess their impact on the bank’s operations.
• Prepare reports, presentations for management and deliver legal training to colleagues.

Required profile

• University degree in Law.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within banking, financial services or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, especially banking and financial regulations.
• Advanced English proficiency and strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive mindset, sense of responsibility and ability to manage multiple tasks.
