Senior Python Engineer – AI Backend Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to design and build high‑performance backend services for AI‑driven, data‑intensive platforms. The role involves creating APIs, working with async architectures, and integrating large language models into production products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python 3.10+ with async/await patterns.
• Build and optimise HTTP APIs with FastAPI (or similar), including REST and Server‑Sent Events.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT).
• Integrate LLM features via OpenAI API, handling prompt optimisation and experimentation.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, indexes and optimise queries for scalability.
• Containerise services with Docker and deploy to Kubernetes clusters.
• Contribute to event‑driven architectures and streaming workflows using Kafka or similar.
• Write unit and integration tests with pytest and participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Python 3.10+, async programming and FastAPI (or another async framework).
• Proven ability to build and consume RESTful and streaming APIs.
• Solid understanding of API security (OAuth2, JWT) and LLM integration.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and PostgreSQL performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Kafka or comparable event‑driven patterns.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
