National Child Protection Consultant – UNICEF Moldova

About the role

UNICEF Moldova is establishing a roster of national consultants to provide expert technical assistance in child protection. Selected consultants will support the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes, working closely with UNICEF teams and national partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality technical advice on child protection interventions, including prevention of violence, safeguarding, and online safety.
• Support the development of evidence‑based policies, legal frameworks and child‑friendly justice systems.
• Strengthen national child protection services for vulnerable groups such as children with disabilities, those without parental care, and children affected by poverty or migration.
• Contribute to capacity‑building activities, training, and knowledge‑sharing with government and civil‑society stakeholders.
• Assist in aligning national reforms with EU accession requirements and the European Child Guarantee.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background and proven experience in child protection, social protection or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work with UNICEF, government agencies and NGOs on policy and programme implementation.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.
• Familiarity with EU‑related reforms and safeguarding standards is an advantage.
