Sustainable Finance & Green Taxonomy Consultant (Short‑Term)

About the role

The International Finance Corporation seeks an experienced consultant to support the implementation of Moldova’s National Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Framework. The assignment combines policy guidance, digital tool design, and capacity‑building activities for public authorities and financial‑sector participants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop practical implementation guidelines with the National Bank of Moldova and stakeholders, covering reporting requirements and classification methods.
• Advise on the design of a user‑friendly online “Taxonomy Compass” tool, drawing on EU best practices.
• Conduct an institutional gap analysis, hold stakeholder consultations, and propose policy, regulatory and market‑based incentives to boost taxonomy adoption.
• Lead workshops, presentations and training sessions for public authorities, banks, SMEs and other market participants.
• Undertake two on‑site missions to Moldova and participate in virtual meetings as needed.
• Provide ongoing technical advice on EU regulations, ESG standards and institutional arrangements.

Required profile

• International consultant with proven expertise in sustainable finance and green taxonomy implementation.
• Experience working with central banks, ministries of finance or similar regulatory bodies.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to travel to Moldova and conduct virtual collaboration.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
