Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Business-Class is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, implementation and maintenance of its data infrastructure. You will own the full data lifecycle, from ingesting raw data to delivering clean, reliable datasets for analytics, AI and machine learning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage scalable data pipelines using Python and AWS services.
• Integrate data from APIs, SFTP feeds and relational databases.
• Develop analytical and machine‑learning data models.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy and security across the platform.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers and product managers to meet data needs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to maintain high availability.
• Explore and introduce AI/ML technologies, guiding the team in their adoption.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional data‑engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Python and libraries such as pandas, pydantic, boto3, awswrangler, requests and PySpark.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Glue, Athena, S3 and Lambda.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Strong knowledge of data formats like Parquet, Apache Iceberg, CSV and XLS.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data‑modeling concepts such as Star Schema.
• Understanding of machine‑learning concepts and experience deploying models to production.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical ideas to non‑technical stakeholders.
