Senior Compute Engineer – Red Hat OpenShift

About the role

The Stefanini Group is looking for a Senior Compute Engineer with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift. The role will be part of the Compute Operations team and will provide Level 3 support for enterprise customers running critical workloads on container and virtualization platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the L3 escalation point for complex issues affecting OpenShift clusters, including control‑plane, worker nodes, networking, storage and authentication.
• Lead resolution of major incidents (P1/P2) and drive problem‑management activities to implement permanent fixes.
• Troubleshoot cluster degradation, node failures, API instability, etcd performance, networking (CNI, DNS, ingress) and storage (persistent volumes, CSI) problems.
• Plan and execute OpenShift lifecycle tasks such as version upgrades, operator upgrades, patching, security hardening and certificate renewal.
• Maintain high‑availability through backup/restore procedures, disaster‑recovery readiness and run‑book updates.
• Support VMware‑to‑OpenShift virtualization transformation projects, contributing to migration approaches and technical implementation.

Required profile

• Extensive troubleshooting experience with container and virtualization platforms.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure components and lifecycle management in an ITIL‑based environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt).
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate technical updates clearly and follow change‑governance processes.
