Mid/Senior Backend Developer (PHP/Symfony) – Fintech Payments

About the role

As a Backend Engineer in our Fintech division, you will help design, develop and optimise a cross‑border payments platform serving UK financial services. You will work with a multicultural team to deliver high‑quality financial tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend components of the payments platform.
• Participate in architectural discussions and write clean, well‑documented code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other stakeholders to define requirements.
• Ensure performance, scalability and security of the application.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Extensive experience with PHP and modern frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns and software development principles.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience building REST APIs and integrating third‑party services.
• Ability to write unit and integration tests.
