Media and Communications Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Moldova is seeking a Media and Communications Associate to join its team in Chisinau. Reporting to the Senior Communications Assistant and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the incumbent will help create high-quality communication and media products that raise the visibility of IOM programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and edit multimedia content, including photos, videos, and podcasts, for internal and external audiences.
• Manage web content and social-media channels, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
• Coordinate with national media outlets and relevant stakeholders to promote IOM activities.
• Support the planning and implementation of outreach events and media campaigns.
• Maintain IOM branding guidelines and prepare concise reports on communication activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public/Media Relations or related field, with at least three years of professional experience (or high school diploma with five years of relevant experience).
• Demonstrated experience in national-level media or communications, preferably within an international or humanitarian context.
• Fluency in English and Romanian (both written and spoken); working knowledge of Russian is an advantage.

• Web content management systems and social-media platforms.
• Professional photo shooting and audiovisual production, including podcast creation.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Adobe Creative Suite.
