Lead Ruby on Rails Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join our engineering team. This technical leadership position requires deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, strong architectural vision, and the ability to mentor engineers while driving complex, cross‑team projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design and development of Ruby on Rails applications.
• Plan and oversee large technical projects involving multiple engineering teams.
• Coordinate tasks and assignments across cross‑team initiatives.
• Define technical direction, coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior, intermediate and senior engineers.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Identify technical risks and drive resolution strategies.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business goals.
• Lead prototyping and research for future platform improvements.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Proven experience designing and scaling APIs, distributed systems and web applications.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices.
• 2+ years planning and executing cross‑team technical projects.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
