Lead Dispatcher – Profitability & Operations

About the role

FivePlus is looking for a Lead Dispatcher who will act as a growth engineer for the trucking industry. This senior‑level position sits at the decision layer of logistics, linking dispatch operations with profitability strategy and system design.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement profitability architecture for U.S. and Canadian carrier clients.
• Manage load flow, capacity planning, and risk‑adjusted booking to optimize revenue per mile.
• Bridge communication between brokers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure data‑driven dispatch decisions.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and train dispatch teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics to build BI/AI dashboards that monitor cost structures and performance.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of trucking economics beyond gross revenue, focusing on true profitability models.
• Systems‑thinking mindset with experience in capacity management and risk‑adjusted booking.
• Excellent communication skills under pressure, including broker negotiations and driver retention.
• Proven leadership ability to create SOPs, train teams, and align dispatch with long‑term business strategy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Experience using load boards for freight sourcing.
• Advanced Excel modeling and cost‑structure analysis.
• Creation and interpretation of BI/AI dashboards.
