Grants Officer – Fundraising & Partnerships

About the role

The Grants Officer will lead Startup Moldova’s fundraising and partnership activities, securing resources from international donors, foundations, embassies and corporate sponsors. Working closely with project managers and the finance team, the officer will ensure that all externally funded projects are developed, managed and reported in full compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate funding opportunities from international donors, development agencies, foundations and corporate sponsors.
• Develop high‑quality grant applications, concept notes and sponsorship packages, coordinating input from relevant departments.
• Prepare project budgets together with the Finance & Administration Manager and manage the full grant lifecycle from contract signing to project close‑out.
• Ensure compliance with donor contracts, reporting timelines and support narrative and financial reporting.
• Maintain organized documentation, handle grant amendments, budget revisions and support donor audits.
• Build and nurture long‑term relationships with corporate partners, negotiate sponsorship agreements and deliver agreed visibility.
• Support project managers in planning, monitoring KPIs and collecting evidence for donor and sponsor reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in fundraising, grant writing and managing donor relationships.
• Strong coordination skills to work across departments and external partners.
• Ability to prepare budgets and financial documentation in collaboration with finance teams.
• Attention to compliance requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for building corporate partnerships.
