Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will work remotely with global clients, transforming legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET solutions on GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy and mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain business criticality of legacy systems and proposed modernizations.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy or mainframe systems into Java, Go, or .NET.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and data pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Excellent requirements‑gathering and test‑driven design skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
