Data Partnerships Manager

About the role

Ruby Labs is seeking a commercially sharp Data Partnerships Manager to own and expand the data‑provider ecosystem that powers one of its core direct‑to‑consumer subscription products. You will be responsible for sourcing new data partners, negotiating contracts, and maintaining ongoing relationships to ensure the product receives fresh, reliable, and cost‑effective third‑party data.

Key responsibilities

• Map the vendor landscape, proactively identify and engage new data providers.
• Run structured evaluations—including trials, benchmarks, and scorecards—to verify coverage, freshness, and quality.
• Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs, and renewals to reduce unit costs while improving data quality.
• Maintain day‑to‑day provider relationships and conduct regular business reviews.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to prioritize integrations and resolve data issues.
• Build and maintain provider scorecards and reporting dashboards for portfolio health.
• Monitor market trends for better sources, pricing models, and emerging solutions.
• Identify coverage gaps and close them through new partnerships or portfolio adjustments.

Required profile

• 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategic vendor management for a technology or data‑driven product.
• Proven track record sourcing, negotiating, and closing data‑licensing, API, or content‑supply deals.
• Experience conducting structured vendor evaluations and making evidence‑based decisions.
• Comfortable performing technical due diligence on APIs and data feeds.
• Demonstrated cold‑outreach ability and strong relationship‑building skills.
• Evidence‑driven, systematic approach with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
