Data Engineer

About the role

Coherent Solutions is seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join its growing data team. This position is ideal for an early‑career professional looking to gain hands‑on experience with modern data technologies while collaborating with senior engineers and analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
• Support data integration from various sources such as databases, APIs, and flat files.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, resolving issues as they arise.

Required profile

• 1+ years of practical experience or relevant internship in a data‑focused role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with at least one programming language, preferably Python.
• Understanding of ETL concepts and data‑warehousing fundamentals.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Required skills

• SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar)
• Python (or another scripting language)
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) – a plus
• Familiarity with data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau – a plus
