Senior Expert – Financial Supervision, Banking Supervision Department

About the role

The National Bank of Moldova seeks a Senior Expert to strengthen supervision of the financial sector, focusing on insurance market participants and the National Vehicle Insurers Office. The role involves analytical work, regulatory review, and coordination with international standards bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and propose improvements to national and EU regulatory frameworks governing insurance and vehicle insurer supervision.
• Participate in meetings, strategy sessions, and action plans related to the transfer of supervisory competencies to the Bank.
• Promote and implement recommendations from international financial organisations and globally‑accepted supervisory standards.
• Contribute to the development of processes, regulations and procedures for effective prudential supervision.

Required profile

• University degree in finance‑economics with a minimum GPA of 8 (or 5 years relevant experience if GPA is lower).
• At least three years of experience in the financial‑economic field; insurance experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of effective supervisory principles and prudential oversight in insurance.
• Intermediate proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Demonstrated integrity, responsibility, teamwork, result orientation and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Computer operation at user level.
• Intermediate English language skills.
