Senior Data Scientist – Fintech

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join Volt’s brand‑new fintech platform in Chișinău. You will turn raw data into high‑impact product decisions, building and deploying machine‑learning models from scratch in a fast‑moving, no‑legacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and productionise ML models that solve real business problems (regression, classification, recommendation, forecasting).
• Own the complete data pipeline – from data ingestion and feature engineering to model monitoring and maintenance.
• Define modelling methodologies, architectures and MLOps practices without existing constraints.
• Run experiments (A/B tests, offline evaluation) to validate performance and business impact, detecting drift, leakage or bias.
• Deliver actionable insights to non‑technical stakeholders and collaborate with engineering, product and business teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning, with end‑to‑end production deployments.
• Degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering).
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Deep understanding of machine‑learning algorithms, predictive modelling, clustering and classification.
• Solid experience with MLOps and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Comfort working with large structured and semi‑structured datasets (including JSON) and communicating results to non‑technical audiences.
