Senior Clojure Developer

About the role

Insight Enterprises, Inc., a Fortune 500 solutions integrator, is looking for a Senior Clojure Developer to join an international software development project. The company supports development from day one, encourages teamwork and expects the developer to lead by example.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development, including at least 3 years of production Clojure.
• Track record of building and maintaining backend systems for web applications, such as REST/HTTP APIs, services and data pipelines.
• Proven ability to deliver features and system components end to end, from design and implementation through testing, deployment and production support.
• History of supporting colleagues through code reviews and mentoring less experienced developers.
• Clear communication, comfort working with product and cross-functional teams, and a sense of ownership over quality and outcomes.

Required skills

• Strong grasp of functional programming and Clojure idioms: immutability, REPL-driven workflow, and core.async or other concurrency tools.
• Hands-on experience with the Clojure web ecosystem: Ring, Reitit/Compojure, Pedestal, Integrant/Component and clojure.spec/Malli.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Datomic, Redis or Kafka.
• JVM knowledge, including performance tuning and Java interop.
• Automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and cloud or containerised environments (AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Nice to have: ClojureScript, event-driven or microservices architecture, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or ELK.
