Political Officer (S2) – International Organization

About the role

The Political Officer (S2) will support the OSCE Mission to Moldova by providing political analysis, advice and support to conflict prevention and resolution activities. Working under the Mission leadership and the CPR Programme Manager, the incumbent will engage with governmental and non‑governmental partners across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Advise colleagues on political and conflict sensitivities and draft analytical reports, briefings and talking points.
• Support dialogue, negotiation and confidence‑building measures, including work of the Joint Control Commission and peacekeeping operations.
• Maintain contacts and provide political advice on developments on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River.
• Identify potential conflict risks and recommend preventive measures in coordination with other mission components.
• Conduct monthly monitoring visits to designated security zones and contribute to monitoring reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• First‑level university degree in international studies, public policy, political science, law or related fields.
• Minimum six years of relevant professional experience in diplomatic or political affairs.
• Professional fluency in English and working knowledge of Russian.
• Experience in the region and knowledge of its historical and current political situation.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and gender‑sensitivity skills.
