National Expert on Inclusive Capital Market and Institutional Development Strategy (BIMx)

About the role

UN Women is seeking a senior consultant to advise the Moldova International Stock Exchange (BIMx) on the design of an inclusive, gender‑mainstreamed capital market and institutional development strategy. The expert will work closely with the Programme Coordinator and Programme Associate to ensure the strategy aligns with national and EU policies on financial inclusion, gender equality and sustainable finance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on the formulation of BIMx’s capital market development strategy, ensuring gender mainstreaming and sustainability considerations are integrated.
• Analyse existing regulatory, institutional and market frameworks in Moldova and recommend reforms to improve access for women entrepreneurs and investors.
• Support the alignment of the strategy with the National Capital Market Development Strategy 2025‑2030, the National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2030, and relevant EU directives.
• Prepare briefing notes, policy papers and presentation materials for senior UN Women and BIMx stakeholders.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations with government agencies, financial institutions, women’s business networks and civil society.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in economics, finance, public policy or a related field.
• Extensive experience (minimum 8 years) in capital market development, financial inclusion or gender‑focused economic policy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of EU financial regulations, sustainable finance frameworks and gender‑mainstreaming methodologies.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment and produce high‑quality analytical outputs.
