International Consultant – Health Promotion & Behaviour Change Module

About the role

UNICEF, in partnership with the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Nicolae Testemițanu) in Chisinau, is seeking an international consultant to design and deliver a module on Health Promotion and Behaviour Change for a new Master’s programme in Public Health.

Key responsibilities

• Develop curriculum content that covers behavioural determinants, social diagnosis, and evidence‑based intervention design.
• Guide students in audience analysis, community engagement, strategic communication, advocacy and social mobilisation.
• Integrate monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches to assess behavioural outcomes.
• Collaborate with university faculty and UNICEF country office to ensure alignment with national health priorities.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building workshops for programme participants.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, health promotion, behavioural science or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and teaching health‑promotion curricula at the graduate level.
• Demonstrated experience working with UNICEF or similar international development organisations.
• Strong understanding of social and behavioural change theories and their application to public‑health programmes.

Required skills

• Curriculum development for health‑promotion and behaviour‑change topics.
• Facilitation of adult learning and capacity‑building sessions.
• Application of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks.
• Strategic communication and advocacy planning.
