Senior Interpreter / Political Assistant (G6)

About the role

The Senior Interpreter/Political Assistant provides English‑Russian translation and interpretation services for the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol and supports the analysis of political‑economic developments in the Transdniestrian region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English‑Russian and Russian‑English translation and interpretation for mission leadership, delegations and internal documents.
• Prepare, translate and distribute correspondence, publications and news items from international, Russian and Transdniestrian media.
• Monitor Transdniestrian media, gather open‑source information and draft analytical reports on political and economic issues.
• Assist the National Programme Officer and other staff in organising events, negotiation meetings and official visits, and draft memos summarising outcomes.
• Maintain a library of relevant documents and provide logistical support to other mission programmes as needed.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education complemented by formal studies in modern languages.
• Specialised training in translation/interpretation.
• At least six years of professional experience in translation, interpretation or related political‑analysis work.
