Senior Project Associate – Infrastructure Support

About the role

The Senior Project Associate – Infrastructure Support will provide technical assistance for the planning, design, implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of infrastructure construction, rehabilitation and refurbishment activities across the IOM Mission in Moldova. Reporting to the National Programme Officer, IBM, the incumbent will work closely with thematic units to ensure projects meet IOM procedures, donor requirements, national regulations and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of technical specifications, designs and work plans for infrastructure projects.
• Monitor construction activities, verify compliance with standards and conduct quality assurance checks.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, budgets and donor documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers and internal units to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure that all activities adhere to IOM policies, donor guidelines and local regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture or a related field with at least four years of relevant professional experience; or a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work under the supervision of senior programme staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities applied to engineering‑related tasks.
