Mission Spokesperson (S2)

About the role

The Mission Spokesperson (S2) will serve as the primary public information officer for an OSCE field mission, representing the organization to media, partners and the public. The role requires delivering accurate, timely information while maintaining impartiality and adhering to OSCE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle media inquiries, arrange interviews and manage press briefings.
• Draft news releases, statements, briefing notes and public presentations for diverse audiences.
• Oversee the dissemination of mission‑related information across traditional and social media platforms.
• Coordinate and monitor project‑related communications, ensuring consistency with mission objectives.
• Integrate gender‑equality considerations into all communication products.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the political context of the mission area and provide analytical input.

Required profile

• University degree in journalism, international relations, communications or a related field.
• Minimum six years of professional experience in media, public affairs or communications.
• Professional fluency in English (oral and written) and working knowledge of Russian.
• Excellent physical condition, valid driving licence (manual transmission) and willingness to work extra hours in challenging environments.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and gender‑sensitivity skills.
